However, with the good comes the bad, including a number of people who have vanished into the depths since the lake was formed, adding to the allure of the lake’s mysterious past.Over the years, people have reported being grabbed or touched by something in the lake, helping to keep alive an old Indian legend that a witch or evil spirit once roamed the Saluda River Valley two hundred years before the lake was formed.As time moved on, the legend of the Saluda Indian witch slowly faded away, that is … until the murders began.
